The Next Chapter
I thought it might be a good idea to warn everybody to stay off the road. That's right: I am about to learn how to drive. However I must confess that I already had my first experience behind the wheel on Friday. Fortunately nobody was harmed and the car escaped unscathed. So begins a new chapter in my life, one that I am very excited to enter. I am also excited about spending the next month and a half to two months with my family. It will be a wonderful chance to grow closer to them and the Lord. Please pray that the time we spend together will be a profitable time and that our relationship will grow stronger. To all of my Marysville friends: I will miss you and will keep you in my prayers.

Adventures in the Big City
Spending the day in Seattle is always exciting, especially when you take two girls who have never been there by themselves before. Well, that's exactly what happened to Deborah and I on Saturday. Fortunately nothing too crazy happened and I am thrilled to report that we didn't get lost. You may be thinking, "Big deal, I never get lost." However Deborah and I get lost pretty much wherever we go, so we are very thankful that we aren't driving in circles somewhere in Seattle trying to find our way out :)

Who Am I?
If anybody can figure this out, and I see you on a regular basis, I will bake you a batch of cookies. It was written by a woman in California in 1880, in response to a challenge by a gentleman in Philidelphia who said that he could figure out any poem. The challenge was, if there was a poem he could not figure out, he would pay the auther $1,000. An eight year old boy figured it out, so the gentleman obviously wasn't as smart as he thought.
God made Adam out of dust,
But thought it best to make me first;
So I was made before the man,
According to God's perfect plan.
My whole body God made complete,
Without arms or hands or feet.
My ways and acts did God control,
But in my body He placed no soul.
A living being I became,
And Adam gave to me a name.
Then from his presence I withdrew,
For this man Adam I never knew.
All my Maker's laws I do obey,
And from these laws I never stray.
Thousands of me go in fear,
but seldom in the earth appear.
Later, for a purpose God did see,
He placed a living soul in me.
But that soul of mine God had to claim,
And from me took it back again.
And when this soul from me had fled,
I was the same as when first made;
Without arms, legs, feet, or soul
I travel on from pole to pole.
My labors are from day to night,
And to men I once furnished light.
Thousands of people both young and old
Did by my death bright lights behold.
No right or wrong can I conceive:
The Bible and its teachings I can't believe.
The fear of death doesn't trouble me;
Pure happiness I will never see.
And up in Heaven I can never go,
Nor in the grave or Hell below.
So get your Bible and read with care.
Here is a clue, the answer is one word five letters long.

Life in the "Big City"
If there is one thing that I am thankful for, it is that God is definately protecting me. I always knew this in the back of my mind, but never really thought about it. Well, it all came clear to me this past week.
As you probably know I work at Taco Bell and except for people getting the wrong order or not the right amount of change, not a whole lot happens, except on Monday that is. I had to work a double shift, it was late, and I wanted to go home, but I still had about a half hour until I was off. Nobody was manning the front counter so I took it upon myself to do so. In between people coming in and wanting food and cleaning, I noticed two guys come in, go to the bathroom, come out, and sit in the lobby. Okay, that's not too odd, they could be trying to decide if they want something or they could be waiting for somebody, or so I thought. Well I was wrong and they ran up and stole our donation box. Being brilliant and wanting to pound them for robbing us I ran after them causing my manager Satendra to run after me. This all seemed like a good plan, when one of the guys pulled out a gun (I found out later it was an airsoft gun, but at the time I didn't know that). In the meantime the other had gotten in their car and driven away. Not noticing the gun I kept running until he yelled stop. Needless to say I stopped and he ran off into the night.
That night I saw the Lord's protection on all who were at Taco Bell and it brought to mind Psalm 91:2-4. "I will say of the LORD, 'He is my refusge and my fortress, my God , in whom I will trust.' Surely He will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.(NIV)"

The Beginning
Since just about everybody in the world has a blog, I thought that maybe I too had some wisdom to share with the world. Well whether or not I have some wisdom to share with you, I thought it might be fun to share what the Lord has been doing in my life. So the basic idea of this blog is; rejoicing in what God is revealing to me and maybe there will be a story or two thrown in from my life.
